In 1952, French designer Hubert de Givenchy founded a fashion house he named after himself. Along with several other luxury companies, including Christian Dior, Givenchy is now owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton-Moet Hennessy). The Givenchy Fashion House has long been known for its superb clothing, cosmetics, perfumes and accessories. De Givenchy introduced feminine but modern women’s fashions, and Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy were both consistent patrons of the company’s fashion designs. Today, Givenchy numbers Liv Tyler and Justin Timberlake as two of its celebrity customers.

Hubert de Givenchy, the founder of Givenchy Fashion House, retired in 1995. The company has, however, remained successful despite his retirement and continues to follow the same standards for fashion, performance and quality that led to its initial successes. For example, Givenchy perfume is always unique and fashionable. One of the company’s most prominent lines of perfumes is called Givenchy Very Irresistible. It was introduced in 2003 and promoted by a 2004 award-winning advertising campaign which starred Liv Tyler.

Givenchy Very Irresistible is a fruity floral, using rose as its main theme. Symbolizing refinement, elegance and beauty, it emphasizes femininity and harmony with the 21st century’s luxury values. The main statement of the perfume is a reminder of the Givenchy’s history and celebration of women, while renewing the brand for which it is famous. Its success led to the creation of other flanker perfumes.

By changing the Very Irresistible formula slightly, replacing rose with a jasmine underpinning, Givenchy Absolutely Irresistible for Women stepped up the pace of sales.

Very Irresistible Sorbet is a bold fragrance, featuring a blueberry and cranberry heart complemented by violet. A cooling agent is blended into this unique combination of frosted, tangy berries and leaves, enhancing the feeling of a cool, refreshing spray.

The reception of the summer 2009 Sorbet was so warm that summer 2010 saw the introduction of Very Irresistible Givenchy Summer Vibrations, offering warm vibrancy and sensuality for the summer. A note of Frangipani flower lends a delightful spicy tang to this exotic perfume.

Givenchy has many other perfumes to its credit, such as Ysatis, which launched in 1984 and Organza, which launched in 1996. Another perfume that has been introduced in several different fragrance compositions include the rich floral oriental Givenchy Ange Ou Demon, floral Chypre Ange ou Demon Tendre, fruity floral Ange ou Demon Tendre, and fruity floral Ange ou Demon le Secret.

Givenchy Amarige Mariage, another Chypre floral fragrance, is another women’s Givenchy perfume that is worthy of mention. Its radiant Chypre floral fragrance is reminiscent of a wonderful evening by the Mediterranean Sea. Amariage Mariage definitely upholds the long-standing standards for Givenchy perfume, established now for more than 50 years.
